The journey to Big Buddha

1.1.15

Starting bright and early this morning, we ate a traditional continental breakfast at the hotel that featured  unique dishes dishes including steamed chicken feet, noodles, squid ink garlic bread, and crispy buns. For the Starbucks lovers (including myself!), the coffee was excellent with such a rich flavor.

After filling up, we caught a cable car that transported us to Ngong Ping Village (where the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery are both located). Upon arrival, we enjoyed a delicious lazy susan meal and then ventured on to see the Monastery. Inside the Grand Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas, five gold Buddhas are housed. Each one represents one of the five aspects of Buddha.  After viewing the grand architecture along with locals burning incense and partaking in worship, we began our trek towards Big Buddha.
